South Telford Rights of Way Project (STROWP)

In partnership with The Gorge Parish Council and Stirchley & Brookside Parish Council and with support from Telford & Wrekin Council, the South Telford Rights of Way Project employs a Project Officer, Alec Connah. Alec’s job is to raise awareness, promote usage and monitor the condition of the Rights of Way in the three partner parishes. He leads curriculum linked guided walks for local primary schools and general walks for community groups and members of the public. He also organises the annual ‘Telford Trail Challenge Walk’ for charity, which uses the existing South Telford Way route.

The STROWP Project has also been instrumental in promoting the importance of local wildlife sites and is working toward the declaration of several  pit mounds as ‘Local Nature Reserves’
