Madeley Living History Project

The Madeley Living History Project is funded and run by the Parish Council and began in 2001.  The aim of the project is to bring together people and sections of the community and it works with schools, community groups and individuals to research, record and celebrate the history of Madeley, Sutton Hill and Woodside and foster interest and pride in our parish.  The project has instigated, and contributed to, a wide range of hands-on community projects resulting in displays (e.g. The Madeley Quilt),  events (e.g. The John Randall Day) and the restoration of local historic graveyard monuments (e.g. The Turner Memorial).  The Madeley History Group (which is an offshoot of the Project) meets every Tuesday morning at Jubilee House and its members have produced an ongoing series of publications covering parish local history under the guidance of the project manager.

Further information on the booklets and leaflets produced by the project can be found on the Publications and Information to Download pages.
