Visible Minorities Development Centre (VMDC)

Wellington and District Cottage Care Centre Trust

The trust provides for adults with Nursing care needs and disabilities. It promotes independence through stimulation and interactive therapeutic activities. Contact Mrs Ferriday on 01952 261333.

Sutton Hill Families Project

The group is a parent and child project. It provides support to families with an under five living in Sutton Hill, Hills Lane and the Madeley area. They adopt a holistic approach to enable families to reach their maximum potential and development. They do this through regular groups (five days a week) plus home visits. Marie Curie Cancer Care

Marie Curie Cancer Care provides high quality free nursing for terminally ill people. It provides one chance of dying at home supported by their families. Contact Kristy Messham on 01352 754596.

Volunteer Reading Help

Volunteer Reading help service in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin works locally to develop the potential of disadvantaged children. It provides sustained mentoring support through volunteers. We recruit train and provide on going support to community volunteers. Our aim is to help children who are struggling with reading, confidence and the motivation to learn. Volunteers provide one to one support outside of the school classroom and national curriculum. Contact Anita Foster on 01952 771189.

Impact Alcohol Advisory Service

Impact aims to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities who are affected by alcohol misuse. For information, counselling and training - contact 01952 223165.

Samaritans in Telford

Samaritans is available 24 hours. It provides confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair - contact 01952 256161.

No Panic

Offers a telephone Helpline to support those suffering from Panic Attacks, Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and related Anxiety Disorders. National Helpline 0808 808 0545.

Telford Friends

Provides friendship, support, social activities and educational opportunities for people with mental health problems. Contact Mr W Smith 01952 529165.

Mark's Pit Stop

Counselling people in distress. Signposting to other services. Friendship for the lonely, homeless and those with addictions. Contact Janet Groves 0781 798 1772.

South Wrekin Community Mental Health Team

Wednesday morning coffee group hold weekly meetings for social activities and support, with occasional visits. Contact Nigel Sharpe or Gwen Burton 01952 680140.

Drugs Anonymous Movement

A local support service for parents, families, carers or friends of a drug user. Contact 01952 249131 or 222691

Care and Support Group
