Grass Cutting

Madeley Parish Council offers a free grass cutting service for those unable to undertake the task themselves because of infirmity. Dave and Brian, our very own dynamic duo, will ensure the job is carried out quickly and efficiently.

Composting

Many people believe that garden waste is the only thing that you can put in a compost bin. There is however, much more that you can enrich your compost with.

Green Items:

• Tea Bags
• Grass Cuttings
• Vegetable peelings, salad leaves and fruit scraps
• Old flowers and nettles
• Coffee grounds and filter paper
• Spent bedding plants
• Young annual weeds

Brown Items

• Corrugated cardboard and newspaper (scrunched up)
• Toilet and Kitchen roll tubes
• Dry leaves, twigs and hedge clippings
• Straw and hay
• Bedding from vegetarian pets
• Ashes from wood, paper and charcoal
• Sawdust and wood chippings
• Wool
• Cotton threads and string
• Feathers
• Vacuum bag contents
• Old natural fibre clothes (cut into pieces)
• Tissues, paper towels and napkins
• Shredded documents
• Corn cobs and stalks
